The past week reflected our continued commitment to building a digitally inclusive, innovation-driven, and globally competitive Nigeria. Through strategic engagements spanning infrastructure, talent development, higher education innovation, and international trade facilitation, the Honourable Minister advanced key priorities targeted at strengthening the foundations of our digital economy.
From supporting landmark infrastructure delivery in Ogun State, to engaging innovation hubs in Lagos, and launching University Innovation Pods to empower students and researchers, each engagement demonstrated his focus on translating policy into practical outcomes that create jobs, attract capital, and expand national prosperity.

Saturday, April 4 – Celebrating transformative infrastructure delivery
The Honourable Minister extends his well wishes to all the sons and daughters of Ogun State for the legacy infrastructure executed by the Ogun State Government led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of the State.
Monday, April 6 – Encouraging grassroots innovation and skills development
Tuesday, April 7 – Launching AI innovation pods in universities
In his remarks, he noted that the AI UniPod initiative strengthens the foremost tertiary institution’s capacity to truly become an engine of problem solving, entrepreneurship, and increased contribution to national productivity through the application of technology.

This week’s engagements strongly advanced Honourable Minister’s commitment to building a thriving innovation ecosystem. His visit to the SAIL Innovation Lab and the launch of the AI UniPod at UNILAG reinforces his strategy to nurture talent, support problem-solving ecosystems, and ensure young Nigerians have access to platforms that convert ideas into scalable solutions and economic opportunity.
Infrastructure
Dr. Tijani’s meeting with SINOSURE and China Industrial Bank in Beijing directly supports the Strategic Blueprint pillar focused on expanding infrastructure and accelerating meaningful connectivity nationwide. By exploring strategic collaboration under the Nigeria Universal Communication Access Project (NUCAP), we are creating pathways to extend digital access to unserved and underserved communities, while strengthening the foundations of an inclusive digital economy.
