BLUEPRINT ALIGNMENT
Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Capital:
Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani’s engagements this week underscored our Ministry’s commitment to positioning innovation, investment, and research as engines of national growth. Discussions with the Norwegian Ambassador advanced opportunities for collaboration on broadband expansion, clean energy solutions to power digital infrastructure, and innovation-led approaches to AI, opening pathways for capital mobilisation and private sector participation.
This focus was further reinforced at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he announced targeted investments in fibre connectivity, research grants, and postgraduate scholarships under the National Digital Economy Research Scheme, as well as through his meeting with the Policy Innovation Centre to review progress on the AI Collective as a platform for ethical, collaborative, and locally grounded AI development. Together, these efforts support his ambition to translate research excellence, innovation, and international partnerships into scalable economic value.
Policy:
The Honourable Minister’s engagements also reinforced his focus on strengthening Nigeria’s digital governance and policy leadership. Nigeria’s significant rise in the Oxford Government AI Readiness Index further validates the credibility of our policy reforms and the effectiveness of our coordinated approach to building a future-ready digital economy anchored on trust, coherence, and international best practice.
