Ministry Launches Girls in ICT Competition; to Close on February 18

To help bridge the gender gap in tech, the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy has launched the Girls in ICT competition.

The competition, which is aimed at promoting and encouraging the participation of girls in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), serves as a platform for young girls to showcase their skills, creativity, and innovation in various ICT-related fields.

“I am quite passionate about intentional steps that help us bridge the gender gap in tech, so I am very excited as we launch the National Girls in ICT Competition. The competition provides an opportunity for our girls to actively participate and be inspired for a career in tech. I’ll encourage all young girls with a passion for the sector to register,” said Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy.

Through a series of regional and national competitions, participants are given the chance to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in areas such as coding, programming, web development, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
