Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy has been appointed by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to the Digital Innovation Board of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development.
The Digital Innovation Board provides strategic guidance, expertise and advocacy regarding its mission of building critical local enablers and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in digital development to create a more inclusive and equitable digital future for all.
“I am delighted to be appointed into the Digital Innovation Board of the ITU as it offers me an opportunity to work with other notable leaders from across the world with a view to deepening Nigeria’s impact and shaping the future of digital innovation,” said Dr. Tijani.
Dr. Tijani joins 17 other eminent individuals who have been nominated in their personal capacity and based on their track record in innovation.
“I am confident that, with the guidance of the Board, we will accelerate the implementation of the Kigali Action Plan under the mandate of the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D) and empower stakeholders,” said Dr. Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, Director, Telecommunication Development Bureau, ITU. “As innovation and entrepreneurship was adopted by all the regions as a Regional Initiative, I look forward to accelerating digital transformation through the work of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development.”
