Following his recent trip to Wales and Sweden with a view to engaging with potential investors towards developing the technology and innovation ecosystem in Nigeria, Honourable Minister, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani visited Finland where he met with public and private sector officials to identify areas of partnership and collaboration for shared prosperity.

While there, Dr. Tijani paid a courtesy visit to the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elina Valtonen who expressed Finland’s willingness to partner with Nigeria to develop deeper cooperation for the benefit of both nations.

Dr. Tijani acknowledged Finland’s role as an important trading partner while expressing Nigeria’s willingness to collaborate with the country as we work towards growing our digital economy. He thanked Leena Pylvänäinen, Finland’s Ambassador to Nigeria for facilitating the opportunity to interact with the best of Finland’s innovation and digital technology ecosystem.

Reflecting on his visit, the Honourable Minister said: “Nigeria remains a strategic partner to Finland and I am very pleased to expand the channels of engagement to allow us leverage available opportunities for collaboration and investment in our digital economy. 

“The concept of renewed hope is strengthened when global partners are able to not only connect with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s long term vision for Nigeria, but also recognise the capacity of our country to play on the global stage as partners. My 2-day visit to Finland, which I am told is the first Nigerian ministerial visit in a decade, has been another chance for us to reaffirm our longstanding ties and learn from Finland’s strengths in Edtech, digitalisation, innovation and connectivity infrastructure,” he added.
