The Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, in collaboration with the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) and supported by the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT), has announced the launch of Built on Nigeria’s Postcode, a three-part live showcase for Nigerian builders developing solutions powered by the country’s new digital postcode.

The series follows the launch of Nigeria’s National Digital Alphanumeric Postcode System on 1 October 2026 and will give developers, innovators, and companies an opportunity to demonstrate how the 11-character postcode can improve services across delivery and logistics, identity, banking and payments, utilities, commerce, emergency response and other sectors.

Speaking on the initiative, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr. ‘Bosun Tijani, said:

“The value of infrastructure is ultimately measured by what people can build with it. Nigeria’s digital postcode creates a new layer of infrastructure that can support better services, more efficient businesses and innovative digital products. Through Built on Nigeria’s Postcode, we want to see Nigerian builders put this infrastructure to work and show what is possible.”

The initiative has attracted participation from leaders and representatives across Nigeria’s technology, financial services, e-commerce and investment sectors. Confirmed participants include Karl Toriola, CEO of MTN Nigeria; Bode Abifarin, MD and CEO of MoMo Payment Service Bank; Onyekachi Izukanne, CEO of TradeDepot; Lanre Ogungbe, Founder and CEO of Prembly; Eloho Omame, Partner at TLcom Capital; and Tosin Faniro-Dada, Partner at Breega.

Also participating are uLesson, represented by Muritala O. Ahmed, CEO of Myka Insurance Brokers, on behalf of its founder, Sim Shagaya; Jumia Nigeria, represented by Richmond Carlos Otu, Chief Supply Chain Officer, on behalf of its CEO, Temidayo Ojo; and Bolt, represented by Ewoma Jerry-Ogeme, Public Policy Manager for West Africa.

The Postmaster General of the Federation and CEO of NIPOST, Tola Odeyemi, said:

“This initiative is about moving the postcode from a system people know about to infrastructure they actively use. We are inviting builders and organisations to demonstrate practical applications and explore opportunities to integrate the Postcode into products and services.”

The three sessions will be held on 27 October, 31 October and 14 November 2026 and will be streamed live on YouTube. Selected builders will demonstrate their solutions to the Honourable Minister, the Postmaster General and invited organisations, with opportunities for follow-up conversations with potential adopters, partners and investors.

Applications are open to individuals, teams and companies based in Nigeria. There is no prize money; the focus is on visibility, adoption and meaningful connections that can help promising solutions move forward.

Organisations can also participate as adoption or enablement partners by integrating the Postcode into their operations or supporting participating builders through technical assistance, investment, mentoring, credits or distribution.

Applications are free and can be submitted through pitch.postcode.gov.ng.
